The Modern Version of Keno
In the modern version of keno, the drawing of the balls are performed at the booth of keno and it is done by one these four keno devices;
1. The blower for rabbit ears--as dubbed by some keno players.
2. The automated blower "AKV", thru which all of those balls will be sent to the system that is specifically computerized for keno for processing after these are read and encoded by a computer
3. RNG - this is an electronic type of generator which randomly selects the numbered balls, and with the approval of the local gaming authorities
4. The "Hand Cage" - this is a spinning type of metal ball cage which transfers the numbered balls into a slot for validation
In the casino there are several keno runners roaming around to get the player's wagers and take them to the keno booth for processing. Modern keno players may give their wagers payment and ticket to these runners for processing at the keno booth. After that the keno runners will return to the players his "outside ticket" which is known as the official receipt for that particular wager. The player has to strictly check on his ticket for errors that might have occurred so as to avoid future problems should he claim his winnings, before the drawing of the balls. It is being noted that any errors that are not being addressed before the balls are drawn are not anymore rectified and accepted.
In the modern type of keno, one can have the option of enjoying the multi-race keno. This type of modern keno carries a single ticket with several rounds of keno races up to 1000. The races should always start on the next preceding that is to be drawn.
Having his keno receipt on hand, the player then watches the drawing of the balls in progress. As the ball is drawn the spot selections lights up on either the electronic keno board or on a video monitor. These modern keno display boards are scattered around the casino and sometimes even featured in some tv shows.
Today, modern keno players can take out their keno tickets from the casino to watch the live ball draws or look for the results of some historical draws at the computer with an internet connection anywhere in the world.
The modern version of keno gives more comfort for players to get their winnings at a much later date, as compared in the past wherein players have to rush to the keno booth to claim their prize before the next round starts because their winning ticket will expired and no money can be given out even if they won.
